Santee Elementary has been fortunate enough to receive an Apple grant through the White House ConnectEd initiative.  Since becoming the recipient of this award, Apple has helped to support its close neighbor, Santee Elementary, in various ways including support with technology and a Beautification Day on Martin Luther King Jr. Day 2016.  Most recently they invited some Santee staff and students to their Apple Special Event in San Francisco on Wednesday, September 7th.  Apple revealed the new iPhone 7 being launched later this year as well as a waterproof Apple watch. In attendance at this event were Ms. Reyes (Principal), Mrs. Kimberly, four Santee students.  In order to be able to be in assistance at this event, upper grades students had to enter in a writing contest where they had to convince Ms. Reyes as to why they should be chosen to go.  It was a great effort done by all students who entered in the contest and a big congratulations to Kien Huynh (6th grade), Julian Martinez (6th grade), Jorge Sanchez (5th grade), and Esmeralda Azarte (5th grade) who earned a spot at the Apple Special Event!
