I've always wanted to be a teacher. In high school and college, I taught piano, and, in college, I tutored and worked for the Big Brothers, Big Sisters program which served underprivileged youth. I received my Bachelor's in Music and Fine Arts and a multiple subjects teaching credential from San Francisco State University. I started teaching in a private school, but found my impact would be greater at a public school. I was hired at McKinley in 1977 as a substitute teacher, which turned into a permanent position. I've taught at FMSD ever since. My experience has included teaching fourth through sixth at McKinley, fourth through eighth at Shirakawa, and fourth and fifth at Santee. Science and Cub Scouts are my passion and I look forward to starting a pack here at Santee.
