I was born in Jalisco, Mexico and immigrated to the United States with my family at the age of two. I grew up just down the street from Santee and attended Kennedy Elementary, JW Fair and Yerba Buena High School. I graduated from UC Berkeley with a degree in Social Welfare and Chicano Studies and a minor in Education. I have been at Santee since 1996 and it feels like just yesterday that I started teaching! I feel very lucky to work in the community I grew up in. I believe that respectful, caring bonds with children and their families are the foundation for a wonderful and successful school year. I look forward to many more years of being part of the Santee family.
