We are so grateful to be the recipients of New Beginnings Community Church's generosity for the second year in a row. Hundreds of members from NBCC visited Santee over Veterans Day weekend to shower our community with incredible surprises. 

 

Church members worked tirelessly to organize and enhance the parent room, staff room, teacher work room, nurse's office, and kindergarten play area. The parent room is now an inviting space for not only our parents but also our Santee students, who frequent the room once monthly when it transforms into the Bear Buck Store. The staff room kitchen has been completely remodeled with new white painted cabinets, granite countertops, and a coffee maker. The teacher work room, which was in desperate need of organization, is now a bright, meaningful space where teachers can prepare materials and obtain supplies. The nurse's office has been converted to a Lego-themed oasis to provide comfort to those students who feel ill or are injured. Finally, the kindergarten play area has picnic tables where students can sit and work outdoors and it is surrounded by walls painted with favorite storybook characters such as Elephant and Piggie. 

 

As if the aforementioned wasn't enough, our Santee staff was ecstatic to find planter boxes full of thriving plants that can be watered by painted cans they decorated, survival kits full of goodies for each student, a box full of supplies and tokens of appreciation for each teacher, and a generous $15,000 donation to be used at our discretion.
